In 2015, the Paris Agreement was announced with the aim of reducing global greenhouse gas emissions, and limiting the global temperature increase in this century to 2 degrees Celsius, but ideally to 1.5 degrees.
This long-term transition towards a low-carbon economy will pose opportunities for companies across all sectors, while also creating new financial risks for those that do not take action, potentially through regulations, taxes, loss of competitiveness or reputational damage.
