Thematic investing takes centre stage among fund selectors after AUM surged 77% last year
By Tom RILEY, Head of Global Thematic Strategies at AXA Investment Managers   The popularity of thematic equity investing accelerated in 2020, despite the impact of the pandemic, to grow by more than 75% in a single year.   While the widespread adoption of a thematic approach to investing is still relatively new, thematic funds now contain around €572 billion of assets worldwide having grown at an annual rate of 37% since 2018.
