Data Governance Act & Compliance:A new regulatory framework that is part of the European Data Strategy
By Nessym Jules TIR, Avocat - Partner Global Compliance Investigations, Wolff Partners SCS   On 24 September 2023, Regulation (EU) 2022/868, known as the Data Governance Act (“DGA”), came into force, aiming to strengthen data governance in the European Union.   The DGA was adopted on the basis of Article 114 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union and, as an EU Regulation, will be directly applicable in Member States without the need for transposition. It will soon be supplemented by the Data Act, which will more specifically target rights surrounding the access and use of data.
