Outlook of Private Equity and sway of the Luxembourg financial sector in 2021
By Shanu SHERWANI, Private Equity Advisor   As the pandemic turned virtual fundraising the norm, private equity kicked off 2021 with similar excitement, amassing record amounts of investments, according to Prequin (the financial data and information provider on the alternative assets market). The ten largest strategies with a primary focus on Europe currently on the market are targeting around $52.4bn in capital. Adams Street Partners, which surveyed 110 institutional private markets investors in Asia, Europe and North America, revealed that 85% of the participants plan to increase commitments to existing managers this year, while 70% per cent are adding new managers to their portfolios.   Compared to 2020 - Prequin data reveals - GP’s (General Partners)...
