Luxembourg increases the attractiveness of its securitisation regime
On 9 February 2022 the Luxembourg Parliament voted a new law (the “Amending Law”) amending the Law of 22 March 2004 on securitisation (the “Luxembourg Securitisation Law”). This Amending Law was initially introduced by the Minister of Finance on 21 May 2021 with a view to modernise as well as clarify the legal framework applicable to securitisation vehicles, in order to align it with needs of market participants.   What is securitisation?   The process of securitisation can be described as the acquisition of a pool of receivables or other assets (the underlying assets), such acquisition being financed by the issuance of securities (purchased by investors on the capital market).
