Russian Pipeline Gas Exports
Par Nadežda KOKOTOVI, Brussels Energy Club Director   At the end of 2019 and beginning of this year, three important events related to European gas market happened: Russia and Ukraine reached a long-awaited agreement on the prolongation of the gas transit contract, the US has imposed sanctions on «vessels engaged in pipe-laying at depths of 100 feet or more below sea level for the construction” of the new Russian gas pipelines projects, and the TurkStream (formerly Turkish Stream) pipeline was launched. In that context, on 20 February 2020, the Brussels Energy Club invited Dr. Jack Sharples, Research Fellow at the Oxford Institute for Energy Studies, to present the impact of the deal, the changing circumstances and new projects on the future of Russian pipeline gas...
