Financial education : Giving our children the tools to become independent and responsible members of society
On 20 May 2014, the ABBL invited stakeholders from civil society, the banking community, public authorities and education professionals to a first conference on financial education with the aim to raise awareness in Luxembourg of this vital issue. The conference also kicked off the countdown to the European Money Week in Luxembourg, which will take place throughout Europe in the second week of March 2015.   In his introductory remarks, Philipp von Restorff, Head of Communication at the ABBL, reminded the audience that financial decisions play an important role throughout our lives: getting a student loan, opening a bank account to receive pay checks when we first start working, taking out a mortgage loan to buy our first home, putting money aside to finance our kids’...
