Recent developments in remuneration policy for banks and investment firms(1)
Publication of Regulatory Technical Standards (RTS) specifying criteria to identify the material risk takers as well as types of instruments that can be used to pay bonuses ; “allowances” used as part of the fixed remuneration under scrutiny ; consultation launched by the European Banking Authority (EBA) on guidelines related to disclosure requirements for the EU banking sector ; action for annulment introduced by the United Kingdom against the bonus cap provisions of CRD 4 and the reporting obligations established under CRR.   The last weeks have been again quite intense in terms of legislative and regulatory work in the field of remuneration policy.
