There is a significant shift taking place in the way which banks and financial services institutions are allocating their IT investments and spending. Analysts predict that after flat or decreasing IT spend in financial services in recent years, spending will grow in 2010* but much of this additional growth may not be invested in traditional areas of IT such as back-office systems or mainframes.
