On May 24, 2023, the European Commission presented a set of two proposals (the “Proposals”) aimed at modifying the present legal framework to promote the transparency of information for individual investors. As part of its 2020 Action Plan for the Capital Markets Union, the objective is to strengthen confidence, thus increasing the participation of individual investors in financing the economy.
The first proposal would amend the following legislative acts of the European Union (the “Directive Proposal”):
