An EU label for green loans in the pipeline soon?
By Vincenzo BRUNO, Director, Capital Markets, PwC Luxembourg   After years of debates and discussions, the European Green Bond Regulation, introducing the European Green Bond Standard (EU-GBS), was published in the EU Official Journal, and will come into force on 21 December 2024. This achievement represents an additional key milestone in putting into place the tools needed to reach firstly the EU Green Deal execution, with a target to become the first climate-neutral continent, and also the European Commission’s ‘Strategy on Financing the Transition to a Sustainable Economy’ of July 2021, both of which call for action on a more inclusive sustainable finance framework.   As part of its strategy, the European Commission sent a Call for Advice to...
