Since the European Commission adopted the action plan on sustainable finance in March 2018, ESG regulations such as the Sustainable Finance Disclosure Regulation (SFDR) and the requirement to consider sustainability preferences under MiFID(1) have made ESG investing a key area for the financial sector. In line with this trend, Luxembourg awaits the publication of a new version of Circular CSSF 02/77(2), which covers topics such as the consequences of non-compliance with the investment rules and highlights the importance of ESG investment compliance monitoring for the asset management industry.
