Three steps to a compelling and action-based recommendation
By Joanna DENTON *   Get clear on what it is that you want to recommend to your boss, and why it is so important. Doing so will help her get clarity, and it will also help her see how your recommendation ties in to the strategy of the firm. Put the recommendation into the context of the overreaching situation and resulting problem or opportunity, and then decide what you want the back up to do – to justify and explain the conclusion, to explain how to implement it, or a combination of both?
