LuxConnect, the Luxembourg Governments ICT enabler recently hosted the first coherent 100G service testing on LuxConnects own DWDM network. The test was run by LuxConnect's partner KPN International with transponder cards and hardware being supplied by Huawei out of its OSN product range. The 100G test was run for more than 24 hours on LuxConnects Luxembourg-Amsterdam fibre link, over a distance exceeding 500km. With Huawei's underlying 100G technology, 100G services become more adapted to fiber transmission. Services can be transmitted at a higher rate over a longer distance.
