The European Investment Fund (EIF) — backed by the InvestEU programme — is investing €25 million into the pan-European climate-tech impact venture capital fund Contrarian Ventures, joining more than 65 investors including PFR, Korys, Molten, Grantham Foundation, the founders of Vinted and Wix.com, as it aims to close the seed funding gap for founders mobilising resources for climate action.
Founded in 2017 by Rokas Peciulaitis and led by him and Tomas Kemtys, Contrarian Ventures is among the few specialised investors to focus specifically on seed-stage investments in climate tech.
