December 11th, DuPont announced a worldwide restructuring program in order to reduce costs by 700 million US$ in 2016. This restructuring program implies a 10% reduction of global workforce. On December 17 the management of DuPont Luxembourg has informed the works council, employee representatives and the representatives of the LCGB and OGBL unions about the impact of the restructuring for the manufacturing site in Contern.
The Luxembourg Site is expected to be impacted by a reduction of 30 to 40 positions. These positions need to be eliminated before end of June 2016. At this moment, no concrete positions have been identified. The employees in the impacted positions will be informed between beginning of January and end of February 2016.
