LuxSpace wins ESA Study on In-Orbit Demonstration Mission

Today, LuxSpace announces that it has won one of the ESA IOD studies aiming at developing concepts for in-orbit demonstrations. Out of 50 proposals made by European industry, six were selected. The LuxSpace led team, also consisting of the Swiss based RUAG and SES TECHCOM from Luxembourg as major partners has proposed a mission that will allow the test of a newly developed vessel detection payload using the emissions from ship radars in combination with the RUAG developed optical terminal to downlink the huge amount of data. It is planned that both payloads will be hosted on the LuxSpace micro satellite platform called TRITON 3. Within the project, SES TECHCOM will be in charge of the ground segment.
