The General Data Protection Regulation (“GDPR”) is designed to help safeguard of personal data and it applies to all organizations that offer goods or services to EU citizens, regardless of where the organization is based.
One of the key mechanisms for transferring personal data outside the Europe is called Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs). SCCs provide a practical way for businesses to transfer personal data from the EEA to a non-EEA entity without having to enter into a standard contractual agreement.
The aim of these clauses is to remove all uncertainty around the transfer of personal data and to ensure that both parties know what they are agreeing to.
