RTL Group, the leading European entertainment network, today announced that it has appointed ING Luxembourg as depositary for its unregistered bearer shares to comply with the law of 28 July 2014 regarding the immobilisation of bearer shares in Luxembourg.
This new law only affects those bearer shares that were previously not registered. Consequently, RTL Group understands that this law aims to register physical bearer shares and units that are currently in circulation to allow the identification of shareholders.
All shareholders of bearer shares which are already registered – for example through the normal bank clearing system or held in a securities account – do not need to act. Thus, it only has practical implications for those unregistered shares...
