The undimmed investment case for emerging markets
The US Federal Reserve has tried to remind markets recently that their commitment to maintain an accommodative policy stance while tapering quantitative easing are mutually consistent actions. But some emerging market investors are not so sure. Mutual funds have seen significant outflows since tapering entered the discussion in May 2013, prompting concerns that a pull-back of QE-fuelled liquidity would expose deep problems across developing economies.
