Regulated fund partnerships managed by a Luxembourg AIFM – considerations on a local trend and related challenges

By Alvaro ALSINA, Associate and Marceau VISANO, Senior Associate, DLA Piper Luxembourg   As part of the implementation of the Directive 2011/61/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council of 8 June 2011 on alternative investment fund managers (AIFMD) in Luxembourg in 2013, the legislator took the opportunity to introduce a number of amendments to several product laws (e.g., the Luxembourg law of 13 February 2007 relating to specialised investment funds (the SIF Law), the Luxembourg law of 15 June 2004 relating to the investment company in risk capital (the SICAR Law)) and to the Luxembourg law of 10 August 1915 on commercial companies (the 1915 Law) were included in the Luxembourg law of 12 July 2013 on alternative investment fund managers implementing...
