Luxembourg has been well known as a leading investment fund center for the last 20 years. It has taken and continues to take progressive efforts towards achieving and maintaining this status. Until recently, Luxembourg’s notoriety in this area mostly applied to mutual investment funds investing in transferable securities (UCITS), whilst the alternative investment funds (“AIF”) sector had not yet begun to fully exploit its potential.
