As a future energy source, hydrogen has caught the imagination of stock brokers and fund managers. Many of them now perceive hydrogen as a new disruptor in the energy transition and the associated hype has been pushing up hydrogen-related investments. While hydrogen is part of the energy transition toolbox, experts agree that it is not a universal solution. As such, this niche category should be considered within a diversified portfolio of solutions related to the energy transition, rather than as a standalone investment theme.
