Philippe Masset, the CEO of Bank Degroof Petercam gave a presentation to Ecofin Club Luxembourg on the challenges private banks are facing and on how to tackle these. Bank Degroof Petercam is a Brussels-headquartered private and investment bank which employs around 1,400 people (around 320 in Luxembourg).
Philippe Masset cuts right to the chase pointing out that banks today are confronted with many challenges of which the most important are: changing client expectations given the new digital era, low interest rates and a low growth environment, increasing regulation and competitiveness in the banking landscape.
