Climate change risk – How is it going to affect insurers

Par Francis FUREY, Frans KUYS Pedro RIBEIRO, FINALYSE Luxembourg   Under the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement (“PCA”), also known as COP21, about 200 world leaders set down the goal of keeping global warming below 2°C, preferably below 1.5°C.   The most recent report by the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change produced very clear findings that humans are responsible for the climate changes that we have seen, not only for the mean changes of the global surface temperatures but also for the extreme weather events that we have seen around the world this summer.
