If we analyze the digital usage behavior in Germany, it becomes apparent that the pandemic has been a catalyst for increased Internet usage, particularly in the 50+ age group, i.e. the key target group for private banking. We see this as confirmation of the hypothesis, put forward in our Private Banking Study Germany 2020, that the pandemic would highlight the importance of digital channels. Against the backdrop of increasing Internet use, zeb has investigated the opportunities associated with digital acquisition of new customers for private banking providers.
