A fundamental and now pressing issue is deeply concerning financial and political circles: the looming confrontation between stablecoins and a potential digital euro. At its core, this debate reveals two irreconcilable conceptions of money that are vying for supremacy: one rooted in private, decentralized innovation, and the other in centralized, state-controlled authority. The stakes are nothing less than the monetary sovereignty and future economic architecture of the European Union itself.
