American neoliberalism, distinct from Anglo-Saxon capitalism, is rooted in the market economy and entrepreneurship. Everyone faces their destiny, left to the strength of their fists to survive where social protection is weak. The curves of supply and demand determine everything. A Calvinist essence marks this country: each person seeks salvation alone, with charity replacing the welfare state.
It is a country where raw capitalism reigns, blending suffocation and exaltation. Society is based on the individual, causing a constant clash of ideas and chaos, from which projects emerge in fierce social and economic Darwinism. Those who have lived there know this...
