The contemporary world resembles a kaleidoscope, where each turn reveals a new configuration of powers, interests, and rivalries. At the heart of this shifting mosaic, Trump has designated China as the United States’ primary commercial adversary, accusing it of siphoning millions of American jobs. His vice president, JD Vance, adopts a more measured tone: he acknowledges the benefits of globalization, notably rooted in China’s admission to the World Trade Organization in 2001, but emphasizes that nations once considered less advanced have developed industrial and innovative capacities that challenge U.S. dominance.
