The path to sustainable tax governance in Europe

Since then, tax transparency towards tax administrations has grown continuously in the European Union. With the shift to sustainable economic growth now the main pillar of the European policy agenda, tax has become a part of corporate sustainability strategies.   The European Commission highlighted in the European Green Deal in December 2019 that “sustainability should be further embedded into the corporate governance framework, as many companies still focus too much on short-term financial performance compared to their long-term development and sustainability aspects”....
