Dear Colleagues,
Following the request from the European Council we are supposed to come up with some concrete proposals aimed at averting the coronavirus crisis. Our actions need to address the immediate needs of the health sector, to provide support for maintaining business activity and to protect our citizens.
I welcome the intention of the Eurogroup President to discuss and adopt concrete decisions next week in the inclusive format. As this is not the euro area crisis, it is of utmost importance that we are all engaged in the process of tackling the economic consequences of the pandemic in the spirit of European solidarity.
