What’s been happening in Asean markets?
The MSCI Southeast Asia Index rebounded 7.7% in the year to end June (in US$ terms). Sentiment improved after the Federal Reserve (Fed) hinted that it was in no hurry to raise interest rates, while the European Central Bank (ECB) and Bank of Japan (BOJ) kept up their Quantitative Easing (QE) programmes. The best performing market in the second quarter has been the Philippines while Indonesia lagged the region.
