UBS Asset Management (UBS AM) today launched a suite of exchange traded funds (ETFs) tracking the newly launched MSCI ESG Universal Low Carbon Select indexes. These funds inherit some of the well-known features of the MSCI ESG Universal methodology, while additionally applying a larger set of activity-based exclusions and removing the 5% highest carbon emitters.
Compared to the standard MSCI ESG Universal methodology, our new approach introduces an enhanced set of values-based exclusions of activities, redefining the notion of baseline exclusions.
