The "virtual" currency war is announced, in its version 2.0. One can imagine that between Bitcoins and Diems, central banks will want to keep their monopoly. Certainly, the ECB is working on a project of virtual currency in EUR. But how long will it take to get there? Switzerland has made progress too, validated by BRI. Perhaps one day soon, not so far away, we will be able to deposit virtual money directly with the ECB, without going through a traditional bank. A “digital EURO” as well as a “digital HELVETIA” would be conceivable, making it possible to deposit directly with the institution that is in principle the most solvent. The...
