Ambassador Vladimir Norov, head of mission to the European Union, ambassador to Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands and former foreign minister of Uzbekistan, held recently a briefing on the next presidential election on December 4, following the passing away of President Islam Karimov on September 2.
Uzbekistan has taken into account the experience of the leading countries worldwide to create a system of presidential elections in full compliance with the requirements of fairness, transparency, equal opportunities to candidates, prohibition of outside interference in the election process and effective monitoring of the voting process.
